Recording a VA Memorandum For Mechanic’s Lien Claim in Loudoun County

An East Coast based mitigation services contractor asked TRADITION LIEN SERVICE to record a VIRGINA Memorandum for Mechanic’s Lien on a home in Purcellville, VA within Loudoun county. According to Wikipedia, Loudoun county is named for John Campbell, Fourth Earl of Loudoun and governor general of Virginia from 1756 to 1759.

On private Existing Residential projects VIRGINIA Code Annotated § 43-5 mandates that a notarized VIRGINIA Memorandum For Mechanic’s Lien Claim By General Contractor must be recorded by General Contractors no later than ninety (90) consecutive calendar days of last providing labor, services, equipment or materials at a project. Record at the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office in the county where the project is located. Cost to record a lien with the Circuit Court serving Loudoun county is $26.

Claimants are required to file suit to foreclose on a VIRGINIA Mechanic’s Lien within six (6) months after a lien is recorded or sixty (60) days from the date the entire improvement was completed.
